Chamber Choir Ireland – the country’s flagship choral ensemble – will perform in the prestigious Diaghilev Festival in Perm, Siberia on Saturday the 28th June.

The Concert will take place in the beautiful Perm Philharmonic Organ Concert Hall and promises to be a very special occasion. Under internationally acclaimed Artistic Director Paul Hiller, the Choir will perform excerpts from Avro Pärt’s Kanon Pokajanen. Mr. Hillier is a recognized expert on Pärt, having performed his music extensively, written the first English language biography of the composer, and won a Grammy for his recording of Pärt’s Da Pacem in 2007.

The Choir is reaching out to businesses who may be interested in supporting this event and availing of corporate entertainment opportunities. The performance will be heard first on June 20th in Christchurch Cathedral, offering an opportunity for sponsorship / corporate entertainment in Dublin also.

Festival of Russian Culture 2014 Highlights

The Russian community in Ireland has celebrated its Annual Festival of Russian Culture, which was organised by the community and supported by the Dublin City Council and the Russian Embassy. This Festival is in its 5th year and attracts more and more visitors from around the country.

This is a week-long Festival which is traditionally celebrated in Russia as “Maslenitsa”, meaning Pancake week. Russian traditional music and dance, traditional costumes, fun activities, food and more took place during this week.

The Family Day, which plays a significant part of Pancake week, took place in the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin on Sunday the 2nd of March. The RTE Nationwide reportage is available to view for a limited period here.

2014 Festival of Russian Culture: Business Seminar

As part of the Festival of Russian Culture 2014, the Ireland Russia Business Association (an initiative of the Irish Exporters Association) is hosting a breakfast briefing.

Time:                Registration opens at 7.30am. Breakfast served from 8am with talks starting from 8.30 am.

Agenda:            Speaker line-up to be confirmed and publicised shortly. The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ireland will be in attendance. This event is being organised as part of the Festival of Russian Culture which is being held in Dublin to promote Russian culture between the 23rd of February and 2nd of March 2014. Festival of Russian Culture 2014

Festival of Russian Culture will celebrate its 5th year and will be held from Sunday the 23rd of February till Sunday the 2nd of March.

The Festival has been a considerable success, notably the extensive range of cultural and entertainment activities attracting significant interest from both Irish and Russian communities, and it has established a strong reputation with both the Irish and Russian community here and abroad. In addition the festival has huge success generating a substantial amount of national and local press and radio coverage.
