“Anya” New Short Animation From To Russia With Love & Brown Bag Films

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to announce that Brown Bag Films have made us the most wonderful short animation, “Anya”. Anya tells the story of To Russia With Love and shows the impact we have had on the lives of the orphaned and abandoned children that we work with.

This film was launched this week in Moscow.

The photo is of Andrei Malokhov with Debbie. He is our Patron and a personal friend, and he is the biggest chat show host in Russia.

Jackie Chan has just added himself to it. He has 67 million FaceBook followers and it will be placed on his FB next week. The voicing is by Chulpan Khamatova, who is a very famous and popular actress. The girl at the end is Oksana Federova, Ex Miss Universe and Unicef Ambassador, and has a famous TV nursery rhyme show. Ryanair: from Ireland to Russia

Ryanair has been granted permission to fly to destinations in Russia from March next year by the country’s aviation authority. The Federal Air Transport Agency, known as Rosaviatsia, will allow the airline to start regular flights on routes from Dublin to Moscow and St Petersburg. Read more…

The Ireland Russia Business Association and Enterprise Ireland will host a Russian Business Forum this Friday, 7th June 2013 at Enterprise Ireland’s Head Office in East Point Business Park, Dublin 3.

Mr. John Perry TD, Minister for Small Business will deliver the keynote address and speakers and panellists will include representatives from CRH, NT-MDT, Moscow Financial University, Bank of Ireland and the Irish Translators and Interpreters’ Association.

H.E. Ambassador of Russia to Ireland Mr. Maxim Peshkov will attend and participate in the discussions along with his colleagues from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ireland.

Speaking in advance of the Forum Minister Perry said:

CSO figures are showing that Irish companies are increasing their presence in Russia.  Figures for 2012 show exports increased 19% year on year from 2011 and 61% from 2010.  Nearly half of these exports are created by indigenous companies who are clients of Enterprise Ireland. These figures confirm that doing business in Russia is an important part of the Government’s exports and jobs programme.

China builds EU beachhead with $5 billion city in Belarus

China is building an entire city in the forests near Minsk to create a manufacturing springboard between the EU and Russia.

According to Chinese and Belarusian officials, the $5 billion development will include housing to accommodate 155,000 people.

“Nobody will be able to build anything like this industrial park anywhere else in Europe anymore”– said Gong Jianwei, China’s ambassador to Belarus.

The Trade Mission included over 20 Enterprise Ireland client company participants, and was aimed at building on impressive 2011 Russia trade figures which saw 37% growth in goods export to the closest of the BRICS countries.
